Good Jeans
Phase 1 The idea
My initial idea for my project was to create an entirely new fashion magazine for the University of Michigan. Based on the title of the original poem, the entire magazine would center around denim. I wanted the aesthetic to feel minimalistic and trendy, yet classy and iconic. I chose a picture of Levi's for this same reason. I knew that my next phase needed to build off of this cover. It was the aesthetic that eventually stuck.
Phase 2 Development
For Experiment Two, I decided to envision You've Got Good Jeans as a general blog. I wanted to create vision boards for digital marketing proposals. I curated two Pinterest boards to design an aesthetic for the brand, as well as what the photoshoots could look like. Once again, the look of You've Got Good Jeans solidified, however, it was still more in the fashion business realm. It was after this experiment that I decided the final phase would function as a personal platform rather than a company.
The final phase of my experiments was a personal blog/brand Instagram page.
The digital "edition" of You've Got Good Jeans would have explored fashion trends, shared a weekly podcast, and focused on lifestyle. The Instagram posts were created to give a visual for what the feed would regularly look like. This final experiment was inspired by influencers' podcast channels, and how they have built entire brands by posting such content. This phase allowed me to recognize that if I were to have You've Got Good Jeans to be such a blogging platform, I'd focus more on my writing
and a general theme!
